Nazan Kesal was born on March 28, 1969, in Manisa, Turkey.

Despite her family's financial struggles, she pursued her passion for the arts. She graduated from secondary school and commercial high school before enrolling in the Faculty of Fine Arts at Dokuz Eylul University in Izmir. In 1991, she earned a master's degree in Film and Television from Beykent University.
