The Rochester Measdays were the last of three separate families who migrated from their home in Kent, England, to the United States of America.

George Frederick Measday (1872-1948) came first with his elder son John (Jack) in 1911, making their new home in Rochester, New York State. George returned to England, and fought in the First World War in the 4th Buffs, East Kent Regiment. Jack married in Rochester and also returned to England with his wife Katherine and baby George; their second child May was born in 1916 in Maidstone, England during this stay.
